Wilf Malcolm Institute of Educational Research
The Wilf Malcolm Institute
of Educational Research was established by the University to undertake,
support and disseminate research relating to the broad field of
education. The Institute encourages a variety of research in education
spanning the years of early childhood and schooling and which may
be subject-specific or cross-curricular involving interdisciplinary
research teams. The focus is research on learning, teaching, curriculum, cultural
and literacy issues and policy. Local studies in classroom research,
policy, critiques and reviews are encouraged, as are studies from
national and international perspectives. Conferences and seminars
are organised by the Institute to inform the academic and professional
communities of research undertaken, and to promote sharing and debate. National
and international researchers are encouraged to visit the Institute
and collaborate with staff and students in the University of Waikato.
