Ex Officio Members

1.		The Vice-Chancellor

2.		The Deputy Vice-Chancellor

3.		The Pro Vice-Chancellors
4.		The Deans of the Faculties/School of Studies and the Director of the Waikato Pathways College

5.		The President of the Waikato Students' Union, or nominee

6.		The University Librarian

Elected Members

7.		Four professors, elected by and from the academic staff of the University, for terms of three years from 1 January.

8.		Two academic staff members, elected by and from each of the Boards of Studies, for terms of three years from 1 January.

9.		One student, elected by and from the student members of each of the Boards of Studies, for a term of one year from 1 January. The student may not be a member of the academic staff.

Appointed Members

10.		One staff member appointed by the Dean of each Faculty/School and by the Director of the Waikato Pathways College for a term of three years from 1 January. Unless otherwise a member of the Academic Board through one of the other provisions of the constitution, the appointee is normally the College's/Faculty's/School's representative on the Academic Programmes Committee.

11.		One student appointed by and from Māori student members of the Boards of Studies for a term of one year from 1 January.

Co-opted Members

13.		Up to four members may be co-opted by the Academic Board on the advice of the Vice-Chancellor.
