Information and Technology Services
Information and Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for the coordination of ICT planning; the provision of a robust and innovative information technology environment; the provision of project management, business process improvement, consultancy and support services to enhance the quality of teaching, learning and research.
ITS Administration provide administrative and financial assistance and support to business units within ITS. Responsible for the recharges of ITS services, payment of invoices to suppliers and administrative assistance such as travel arrangements, general purchasing and records storage. Campus Computers provide hardware repair and maintenance services and co-ordinates the cost effective purchase of IT hardware, software and related products and services for the University by coordinating the purchasing power of the Institution.
Client Service (CS) is the main contact point for all ICT support issues on campus. In addition the team provides specialist support for a wide range of ICT services including Service Desk, Student Centre ICT, desktop computing and mobile device support, teaching room audio visual technology, conferencing systems, video production systems and coordination of shared ICT service support for Waikato users in Tauranga.
Information Systems Group (ISG) are a services organisation providing advanced business process and technology solutions as well as on-going support that enable ISG clients to better serve their internal and external customers. ISG provide project services comprising the selection and implementation of off-the-shelf software solutions to business needs, bespoke development of software solutions in response to specific business needs, as well as second and third level support for corporate systems such as Oracle Financials, Project Accounting, Alesco HRM, Jade SMS, UniMarket, TMA, Anfield, etc..
ITS infrastructure is the team responsible for the design, architecture, installation and on-going maintenance and security of the core technology underlying the University’s ICT Systems. This technology includes the University’s centralised server and storage systems, Data Centres and communications equipment rooms, data networks (wired and wireless, LAN and WAN) and the telephone systems.
Waikato Print is a commercial business unit dedicated to providing in-house digital printing, finishing, design and photography services to stakeholders and students. It also provides offset printing and allied processes off site through its print broking services.
The Web Team services the University, the Waikato Web Site, and the people who contribute to the site. We design and develop Web systems, and are responsible for a variety of Webmaster duties. The Web Team consults within the University, and provides support for our community of Web authors and developers. The services supported are design and development of web systems, server and site administration, system and site maintenance, problem response and recovery, professional support, university consultation, web technology-management, developer tools and utilities.
