Alumni

All graduates from the University of Waikato, people who have completed a paper or recognised course, former staff members and active participants in University life are recognised as members of our Alumni & Friends community. It is an inclusive, dynamic group, supporting one another and the aspirations of their University.

There are no fees for joining but it is important to keep your details up to date with us so we can proactively keep you informed of University happenings, invite you to a range of events and celebrate your success.

The University encourages alumni to remain connected and share success stories. Alumni news and events are updated regularly on the Waikato Alumni homepage, or via Facebook. Alumni can also join the alumni LinkedIn group.

University alumni support staff facilitate connections between alumni; the University also offers ongoing careers advice and support to all alumni. Alumni are encouraged to attend public lectures and other events on campus, and the University delivers a programme of regional, national and international events specifically for alumni. In addition, the University may invite alumni to overseas events, hosted by New Zealand Ministry departments. Alumni can avail of campus facilities including the library membership for an annual fee. Alumni are also encouraged to partner with the University for their recruitment needs; the University has well established internship and graduate recruitment processes to support businesses looking to recruit new staff or seeking temporary additional help.

Alumni Representatives are volunteers based in cities around the world and form helpful connections for University staff and other alumni.
