10. The Academic Director, Tauranga
11. The Director of the Pathways College
12. The University Librarian
13. The staff member of Council (if not already a member under another provision of the constitution)
14. President of the Waikato Students’ Union
15. The Waikato Student Union Vice-President Māori
Elected Members
16. Eight professors, elected by and from the academic staff of the University, for terms of three years from 1 January, such that the terms of the members provide for continuity. when an election has been held and fewer than eight professors have been elected to positions under this clause, the Vice-Chancellor may appoint professors to the remaining positions.
17. Two academic staff members elected by and from each of the Faculty Boards for terms of three years from 1 January, such that the terms of the members provide for continuity.
18. One student elected by and from the student members of each Faculty Board for a term of one year from 1 January. The student may not be a member of the academic staff.
Appointed Members
19. One academic staff member appointed by the Dean of each Faculty for a term of three years from 1 January. Unless otherwise a member of the Academic Board through one of the other provisions of the constitution, the appointee is normally the Faculty’s representative on the Education Committee.
20. When an election has been held and fewer than eight professors have been elected to positions under clause 9, the Vice-Chancellor may appoint professors to the remaining positions, for terms of three years from 1 January, such that the terms of the members provide for continuity.
21. One postgraduate student, appointed by the Chair in consultation with the Dean of the School of Graduate Research, for a term of one year from 1 January. The student may not be a member of the academic staff.
Co-opted Members
22. Up to four members may be co-opted by the Academic Board on the advice of the Vice-Chancellor for particular purposes.
