The Group's applied research and development in marine and freshwater macroalgal biotechnologies focuses on:

  • Diversification of species for aquaculture;
  • Improvement of water quality in aquatic systems using macroalgal bioremediation technologies; and,
  • Development of innovative macroalgal bioproducts.

Collaborating with industry, academia, independent science organisations, and Crown Research Institutes, the Group aims to deliver sustainable enterprises that can move quickly from pilot demonstration to commercial scale.
